Short history<\/h6>

The symposium commenced in 2006 as ‘Mini-symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow’ by PawelKosinski during ICNAAM 2006 in Crete, Greece. The venue was in the cosy town of Hersonissos. Our symposium was a small one with only one session, however, it has gained interest among other participants of ICNAAM.<\/p>

The year after it continued as ‘Mini-symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer’ during ICNAAM 2007 in Corfu. It has involved three sessions that have constituted an important part of the whole International Conference of Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics. It was the first time when the papers presented during the conference had been printed in the AIP (American Institute of Physics) Proceedings.<\/p>

Due to increasing interest from both the active participants and the audience, in 2008 the meeting followed as The 3rd Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer. The place was a magnificient island of Kos where the conference centre was located only a few kilometres from Kos town. In this way the event became the biggest symposium organized at ICNAAM 2008.<\/p>

The 4th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer was organized close to Rethymno (Crete) in September 2009. It was another important event with many interesting presentations and positive feedback from the audience. For the first time selected papers from this symposium were published in a special issue of the Applied Mathematics and Computation.<\/p>

The meeting after, the 5th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer, hosted two important events: an invited talk by\u00a0Professor E.F. Toro\u00a0<\/strong>and a special workshop on numerical methods in multiphase flows organized by\u00a0Professor M. Darwish<\/strong>. This symposium was held in Rhodes, 2010.<\/p>

The venue of the 6th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer was Halkidiki. The symposium hosted an invited talk by\u00a0Professor M. Ben-Artzi<\/strong>and a special workshop on pressure-based coupling algorithm organized by\u00a0Professor M. Darwish<\/strong>.<\/p>

The 7th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer took a place in Kos during 2012. This symposium involved 14 sessions and three special events: an invited talk by\u00a0Professor G. Warnecke<\/strong>, a plenary lecture by\u00a0Professor M. Darwish<\/strong>and a keynote lecture by\u00a0Dr D. Lakehal<\/strong>.<\/p>

The 8th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer – Numerical Fluids Symposium 2013, took a place in Rhodes. The symposium involved three invited lectures given by\u00a0Professor Remi Abgrall, Professor Fadl Moukalled<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Professor Sergei Sazhin<\/strong>.<\/p>

In 2014, the 9th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2014, chaired by Dia Zeidan, took a place in Rhodes. The Numerical Fluids 2014 received a very large number of papers for oral presentation. After a review process that meets the expected high standard of the symposium, thirty eight solicited papers have been accepted for presentation. The symposium final program incorporated five invited lectures given by\u00a0Professor\u00a0<\/strong>Paul Tucker<\/strong>, Professor\u00a0<\/strong>Evgeniy Romenski,\u00a0<\/strong>Professor\u00a0<\/strong>Lyazid Djenidi, Professor Maria Vittoria Salvetti and Professor Bendiks Jan Boersma<\/strong>. For Numerical Fluids 2014, the symposium authors have been asked to submit an expanded version of their paper through a review procedure by the editorial board for publication in Applied Mathematics and Computation journal.<\/p>

The 10th Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2015, took a place in Rhodes again. The symposium involved two invited lectures given by Professor\u00a0Evgeny Timofeev<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Professor Sergey V. Utyuzhnikov<\/strong>. Selected authors of Numerical Fluids 2015 have been invited to submit an expanded version of their paper through a review procedure by the editorial board for publication in International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow.<\/p>

The year after, the 11th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2016 involved two invited lectures given by\u00a0Professor Ned Djilali\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Professor Srdjan Sasic<\/strong>. Authors presented their work during Numerical Fluids 2016 been invited to submit an expanded version of their paper through a review procedure by the editorial board for publication in Shock Waves of Springer.<\/p>

In 2017, the 12th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2017 took a place in Thessaloniki. The event involved an invited lecture given by\u00a0Professor Eric Goncalves<\/strong>. A large number of papers were submitted to Numerical Fluids 2017 and authors have been invited to submit an expanded version of their paper through a review procedure by the editorial board for publication in Computers & Fluids of Elsevier.<\/p>

The 13th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2018 back to Rhodes. The symposium involved two invited lectures given by\u00a0Professor Jiequan Li<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Professor Peter Farber<\/strong>.<\/p>

In 2019, the 14th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of\u00a0Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2019 included\u00a0four invited lectures delivered by\u00a0Professor Gretar Tryggvason,\u00a0Professor Philippe Helluy, Professor Sergey V. Utyuzhnikov and Dr\u00a0<\/strong>Djamel Lakehal.<\/strong><\/p>

The 15th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid\u00a0Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2020 was held Virtual\u00a0due to coronavirus (COVID-19). Accordingly, all the invited\u00a0lectures which were planned for Numerical Fluids 2020 are postponed\u00a0for Numerical Fluids 2021.<\/p>

In 2021, the 16th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of\u00a0Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2021 took place\u00a0in Rhodes in a hybrid form with physical and virtual participation.\u00a0Consequently, all the invited lectures which were planned for Numerical Fluids 2021 are also postponed for Numerical Fluids 2022.<\/p>

The venue of the 17th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis\u00a0of Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2022 took a\u00a0place in the city of Heraklion, Crete, Greece. For Numerical Fluids 2022\u00a0hosted an significant invited talk by\u00a0Professor Marco Marengo.<\/strong><\/p>

The venue of the 18th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis\u00a0of Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2023 took a\u00a0place in the city of Heraklion, Crete, Greece.<\/p>

The venue of the 19th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flows, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2024 took a place in the city of Heraklion, Crete, Greece.<\/p>
