Mathematical modeling is essential in efforts that focus on predicting, assessing, and controlling diseases outbreaks. Since the pioneer paper of Daniel Bernoulli “Essai d'une nouvelle analyze de la mortalité causée par la petite vérole” dated of 1766, where he showed that inoculation against the virus would increase the life expectancy, huge developments and progress have been made. The most serious issue with a pandemic outbreak such as SARS-CoV-2 is its rapidly growing transmission rate across the world. Mathematical modeling and simulation allow for rapid assessment. They have the potential to trace and predict the epidemic trajectory under different scenarios but also to assess the impact of social distancing, use of face masks, etc..

Organizer: prof. Oldřich Zmeškal, Ph.D., Faculty of Chemistry, Brno, University of Technology, Purkyňova 118, 612 00 Brno, Czech Republic
Email: zmeskal@fch.vutbr.cz
Transport and accumulation of heat, moisture, chemical substances, and momentum are phenomena which affect buildings and their inbuilt materials over their whole lifetime period.
Their satisfactory description requires primarily a choice of proper physical and mathematical models because the transport mechanisms are coupled. The computational implementation of mathematical models is another essential factor involving an application of appropriate methods of numerical solution. The computer simulation tools cannot be utilized properly without knowledge of a variety of transport and storage material parameters, microstructural and structural parameters, which have to be determined experimentally in a wide range of field quantities, such as temperature, moisture content, and concentration of a particular chemical compound. The applied models are also supposed to be verified using critical experiments, in order to assess their overall quality. Therefore, in practical applications the computational modeling and experimental assessment of transport processes cannot be separated without a risk of significant departure from the physical reality.
The symposium brings together physicists, chemists, mathematicians, and engineers working in the field of transport processes in building materials and materials engineering. The main topics include but are not limited to:
• Theoretical models of transport phenomena
• Computer simulation tools
• Material parameters and their assessment

Simulation experiments using a stochastic-simulation model has long been used for the estimation of performance measures for the assessment and mitigation of risk. Stochastic simulation has been widely used for risk assessment in many areas, for example, in supply chain management, where risk measures are mainly related to shortages, the occurrence of catastrophes and the costs incurred. Stochastic simulation has also been extensively used in the areas related to production planning to design products with high reliability, for example, for water distribution, for the design of integrated circuits or for the design of highly reliable products. One area of production planning where stochastic simulation is particularly important for risk mitigation is operations scheduling, where the achievement of programs that meet delivery dates is especially important when using a digital twin under the framework of Industry 4.0. In this symposium, we are interested in theoretical and application results on consistent methods for the estimation of expectations, nonlinear functions of expectations, quantiles, and other performance measures from the output of simulation experiments. Applications and results for both transient and steady-state simulations will be considered, and methodologies that consider the assessment of the accuracy of the corresponding point estimators are especially welcome.

In memory of
Maria Santos Bruzón
Many physical phenomena in science and engineering are modelled by nonlinear differential equations. There is no doubt that Lie symmetry methods are one of the most effective set of techniques to find exact solutions of such nonlinear differential equations. They have been used by several scientists and applied to various nonlinear models in physics, biology, engineering, economics, etc.
The Lie symmetry methods identify and extend the concept of symmetry, produce an effective method of symmetry applications in difficult situations, give accurate statement of problems and in many cases show a possible way for finding their solutions.
This mini-symposium is dedicated to our friend Maria Santos Bruzon (Maruchi), who was one of its organizers during many years and recently passed away. Maruchi's works were mainly focused on Lie symmetries and differential equations. To celebrate her memory we organize this session of applications of Lie symmetry methods to search for exact solutions of nonlinear models and to show recent progress of theoretic tools in Lie symmetry methods related to the study of nonlinear differential equations.

The main purpose of the Symposium “Recent Advances in Numerical Methods and Simulations in Statics and Dynamics of Structures” is the presentation of new methods to analyse of safety and reliability of the structures under extreme loads as the earthquake and climatic loads (temperature, wind, snow, rain and others), terroristic attack (aircraft, missile, blast, fire and others) or technology accident (explosion, high temperature and others). The nonlinear material and geometric behaviour of structures is necessary consider during extreme loads. The risk of the structure collapse is determined by the model and resistance uncertainties. The deterministic and probabilistic analysis of the structure failure during the extreme loading can be used. The probabilistic assessment gives us the most complex analysis of the acceptable level of the risk. Recently, the theories of probability and statistics and reliability have provided the bases for modern structural design codes and specifications.
The main objectives of the Symposium are developing:
- The advanced methods and simulations of structure failure under extreme loads,
- The nonlinear material and geometric model of structures and the effective numerical methods,

- The simulation probabilistic methods and the stochastic finite elements to probabilistic analysis of the structure resistance due to extreme loads,
- The risk analysis of the structure failure using the fragility curves of the structural elements for various type of accident or extreme loads,
- The Reliability-Based Optimization procedures to consider of the effects of uncertainty by means of reliability, the applications involving optimal structural design for stochastic linear and nonlinear statics and dynamics.
- The experience from the experiment tests, modelling and simulations of the structure failure under extreme loads using the deterministic or probabilistic assessment are welcome.

The fractional integrodifferential calculus has evolved to a mainstream topic within mathematics and the applied sciences. This evolution is the result, on the one hand, to the large number of problems that can be considered in the framework of fractional calculus like, for example, in optics, quantum mechanics, and mathematical physics. On the other hand, fractional derivatives provide new degrees of freedom that can be used for a more complete characterization of phenomena.
To address higher-dimensional problems also in the fractional setting, one can additionally implement methods from quaternionic analysis, Clifford analysis and octonionic analysis as they a refinement of harmonic analysis and generalization of complex analysis. In recent research papers we have seen that the toolkit of these function theories can successfully be used to study and to address fractional PDE in the sense of Liouville and Caputo, but also in the sense of Riesz potentials arising from the application of Fourier symbols. The interaction of fractional calculus and methods from higher dimensional function theories is a successful combination.
Function theoretic methods also play an increasing role in other areas of mathematics, such as algebraic geometry and number theory, but also in physics, computer science and several branches of engineering. The symposium aims to reflect the state of the art in pure and applied complex and hypercomplex analysis on the interface of the fractional differential calculus as well as in the development of new fractional and (hyper-)complex analytic methods and to exchange ideas for new developments in theory and applications.

Organizer: Tao Zhang, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia
Email: tao.zhang.1@kaust.edu.sa
Engineering computation has been recognized as an efficient approach to study the energy discovery and recovery mechanisms and to enhance the energy production, storage and transportation using a number of models and algorithms, and the significant superiority on the flexibility and efficiency compared with experimental studies has made numerical studies more popular and accepted in the current energy industry. The limited space and time scale challenging experimental studies can be resolved well in well-designed numerical schemes, and the restricted laboratory and field experimental conditions are remedied by the performance of computational devices. Moreover, the reliability of numerical methods should be verified by comparing with the experimental results, while the value of the key parameters involved in the mathematical formulations should be determined by experimental analysis. The improved models and algorithms after continual optimization on the numerical structure and parameter selection can only be considered as "realistic" if meeting well with experimental data, and then trusted to describe the complex phenomena in a reasonable scale with practical meanings. In this symposium, a platform will be provided to present the most advanced numerical models and algorithms simulating various physical phenomena in the energy industry, and to exchange the emerging ideas of optimizing practical processes and techniques based on feedback from the digital space.

Integration of IoT and blockchain offers various potential advantages and allows a smart device to function independently without the need for a centralized authority. Machine learning approaches are mainly used for applying the data analytics techniques to extract hidden patterns and information out of the large volume of data. Synergy of IoT, block chain and machine learning show the fact that machine learning deals with the way the data is processed whereas the collaboration of IoT with block chain resembles the method to capture and store the data.
The rise of these technologies is redefining the business opportunities. Generally, the core functionalities of gadgets in IoT infrastructure makes the block chains more vulnerable concerning confidentiality, privacy, and data integrity. One of the open research challenges is to device the appropriate mechanism to process the large amount of data delivered by the IoT and ensure data accountability and improve privacy. Another predominant area is to deal with processing and analyzing the large amount of the data delivered through the aforesaid platforms using advanced machine learning tools and algorithms.
The theme of this call is to attract researchers and practitioners in the area of machine learning, IoT, block chain and cyber-security to discover and promote the innovations, current advancements and solutions for integrating these revolutionary technologies.

E-mail: vala.j@fce.vutbr.cz
The theoretical, numerical and computational analysis of dynamical systems and their applications to the analysis of problems coming from civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. engineering and related subject fields, their formal verification and practical validation of relevant approaches constitute the unifying idea of this symposium, whose significance should be seen just in the confrontation of different approaches and intensification of multidisciplinary cooperation of experts (mathematicians, physicists, engineers, ...). Leaving nice model cases and seeing the real-world problems, we come to serious difficulties a) in the formal analysis of existence, uniqueness, stability, etc. of solutions, b) in the convergence of sequences of approximate solutions, as well as c) in the design of sufficiently robust and inexpensive algorithms for direct, sensitivity and inverse problems. The unification approaches addressed to the continuous and discrete analysis, namely to the study of integral, differential, difference, etc. equations from engineering practice, both deterministic and stochastic ones, including their formulation on time scales, is needed: the theoretical problems include e.g. i) stability and observability of dynamical systems on time scales, their qualitative and quantitative analysis, ii) filtration of inner states of such systems and iii) identification of systems of orthogonal functions. The scope of applications is not limited, but both theoretical and computational predictions of mechanical, thermal, etc. behaviour of advanced materials and structures and control of related technologies, up to the development of modelling and simulation software tools, are welcome.

Email: kristyan.sandor@ttk.mta.hu
The divisibility restrictions in the famous equation a^n+b^n=c^n in Fermat Last Theorem (FLT, 1637) is analyzed how it selects out many triples to be Fermat triple (i.e. solution) if n>2, decreasing the cardinality of Fermat triples. ... Our derivation focuses mainly on the variable c rather than on variable n, oppositely to the literature.

64) Title: Mini Symposium on Solving Fractional Differential Equations: Analysis and Applications
Organizer: Dr. Yogita M. Mahatekar, Assistant Professor, College of Engineering Pune, Pune-411005, India.
Email: yogitasukale25@gmail.com; yvs.maths@coep.ac.in; yogitamahatekar@gmail.com
Fractional Calculus (FC) is an important branch of Mathematics which deals with differentiation and integration of arbitrary orders. Differential equations involving arbitrary derivatives are termed as ‘Fractional differential equations’ (FDEs). Several real life phenomena are better described by FDEs hence fractional order models are receiving growing attention. Fractional order models involving arbitrary derivatives are more adequate than originally used integer order models. Unlike ordinary derivatives, fractional derivatives are non-local in nature and due to memory effect, solving fractional differential equations is an important and challenging task. Not all fractional differential equations have closed form analytic solution hence one has to rely on numerical methods to solve them and find approximate numerical solutions. Hence it is important to develop and study efficient numerical methods to solve FDEs.
This symposium will provide a platform to discuss recent developments in FC, new numerical as well as analytical techniques to integrate FDEs, their analysis and applications of FDEs in science and engineering. The goal of this symposium is to present fundamental theories, advance techniques to integrate FDEs and applications of FC and FDEs to modern science and technology. It also plans to stimulate research interest in real world applications of FDEs as well as to develop a network of young researchers, academics and technologies in the field of numerical analysis and its applications. This symposium will focus on recent developments theories and findings on fundamental principles, analytical and numerical approaches to integrate non linear FDEs and new computational techniques along with their comparative study with old established methods in science and engineering domains.
